So a couple of days ago I made 4 tilipia filets. I was in the living room with my daughter and Sarge was in the kitchen. I thought he was eating his food. Well I go into the kitchen to put the food away for my lunch and I can't find the fish. I look in the microwave and it wasnt there. Yea Sarge ate all of our food for that night and my lunch for the next day. i had to call DH to buy food b/c he got home!!! I wasnt mad at all i just couldnt believe he got on the counter and ate them like nothing!!! lol! Now I know to put the food way in the back when he cant reach. I guess he really liked the smell b/c I have left food out b4 and he never has touched it! Funny dog!

I'm sorry, but that is soooo funny!! I am so grateful Tyson hasn't started counter surfing yet. He hasn't even tried to sniff up at the counter.
Unfortunately hard lesson learnt!! :D

 Apparently Sarge likes fish hungryicon .
My little Aniah is a horrible counter surfer, although she is getting much better (it has been a lot of hard work) she has been known to steal food right in front of me. I can't tell you how many raw chicken breasts I have had to pull from her throat. She does not get to keep it if she steals it. I have been seasoning my food and when I reach right above me to get my salt and pepper the little devil evilicon would jump up and snatch it, she is quick. But she hasn't done that in quite a while. She will however surf the counters after dinner hoping to find some goodies. I have had to become very diligent about not leaving anything out.

Too funny! Especially funny when Lily doesn't do that typical crazy stunts. Always funnier when it happens to someone else.

I have to worry about my staffy. I have found her standing on top of the kitchen table already, munching down some donuts. Found her ON TOP of the counter eating the meats I had out to thaw for their dinners. She doesn't surf, she jumps her fat little snausage butt right up there! Gotta give her credit for persistance. LOL

Maybe it's just the smell of fish & seafood.. Dakota never pays much, if any, attention to us while we're eating but one night for hubbys birthday I made cooked a lobster and some king crab legs and Dakota couldn't stay away.. he even got up and put his front paws on the table to try and get some. Even since then he hasn't done it with any other food.

omg I'm sorry but that's funny lol

I cant stand a dog hanging around staring at me when I'm in the kitchen lmao..I dont know why but it I just cant.
I feed Tima in the other room and when he hangs around at the entrance of the kitchen I say "out of the kitchen" and he pouts and wanders off.
Interestingly "out of the kitchen" works for any room I'm in he is supposed to be lol all the same to him I guess....
No matter how old they get they'll always surprise ya lmao.
The real problem child is the big cat with him in the picture lol....he's a food predator!

My Harriet is too timid to even come into the kitchen! She stands at the edge where the cabinets stop.

That is too funny! Luckily I've not caught Willie anywhere near the counter. He's more of a sneak about it..he will totally ignore us while we're eating dinner, sometimes even go into another room. As soon as we're done and cleaning up, though, he is at my feet begging. And anything left at his eye level is done for, as long as we're not around. It's just so funny how he waits for us to walk away, like we don't know what he's doing.

Counter Surfing

I have a 13 month old Boxer named Daisy. She is always trying to get something off the counter. I don't have any way to keep her out of the kitchen because it is open to family room. She will steal towels and pot holders and take them to the dining room. She taunts us with them and then runs around while we try to take them away and saying "leave it". After awhile she does leave it. We learned with our other boxer, Gidget (died last year at 5 years) to keep food way back on the counter if you are cooking. One time I took a cake out of the oven and had it on the stove to cool and went upstairs to get something and came down and Gidget had ate half the cake.I couldn't believe she didn't burn her mouth! It was my son's birthday and I had to make another. Now I learn to place a cake warmer on the top counter where it is out of reach. I just figured it was a boxer thing. LOL.
