The Christmas Tree

We bought a 4ft pre-lit tree this year instead of putting up our usual tree (first xmas with both dogs) and put it on top of our tv stand, so they cant get it. They both sniffed it for awhile but we just kept on the "leave it" command and they havent bothered with it since. Here is a picture of them helping daddy decorate it...

We also put our tree up and xmas things around the house , juke not to keen on the singing santa he just sits they and stares at him and growls at the singing santa. We know if we leave juke in the room by himself he will find a way to shut the santa up , he got his way last year with the singing elfs they sing no more .

Punchie is also not a fan of the singing Santa. Last year, she cornered him and growled and bark, occassionally doing the Boxer head tilt, I think to make sure he wasn't going to make a run for it Silly pup.

When we had the two siamese cats, one would climb the tree and knock things off for Lisa and his brother. To try and get a cat out of a tree is near impossible so we just left him there, it was easier in the long run to get the ornaments off Lisa.

We're dreading putting the tree up with Casper the destroyer around.

We skipped a putting a tree up last year so we are going to give it a try. DH wants to skip it again this year too but we will see how Splash does. I think I am just going to put lights on it, no ornaments. Wish us luck.

Last year Lucy didn't bother the tree at all (She was 1 then), so this year I thought it was no problem....boy have I been wrong. I come home to ornaments on the floor, broken (have since been moved higher) and presents opened. I guess she's just in the Christmas spirit. She has also found my little display of glittered pinecones so that has since been moved. Funny thing is she never even seems to notice the tree when we're at home, just when she's left to her own devices.

She also hates all my christmas pillows on the couch, she pulls them all off before resting on the couch.

My little solution has been to buy a tree for outside on the front garden add the lights and hey presto its perfect. These two just lie in the window looking at it. My dread of having an indoor tree is that Rocco would wee on it and Lola would just destroy it
I just do the house up with lights, cards, and other decorations that they don't bother with.

I no longer have decorations near the bottom of the tree.... I got bored of putting them back on when Tink just batted them off with her tail again!!

Aasha seems to like the decorations on the tree to. When I see him near it and tell him leave it he leaves it alone. But let me tell you what this little booger did. The tree is next to our fouton couch. So he crawls under the fouton and steals and chews the ornaments so I can't see him! Yupe, they all have been graviting toward the top of the tree also.

Our tree just went up tonight. So far Chica has been caught trying to chew one of the branches off, taking off with the tree skirt and drinking water out of the base... And it's only been up for 3 hours. We haven't decorated it yet. I'm going to wait a couple of days. Maybe the newness will wear off and she will leave it alone <keeping fingers crossed>
