The Christmas Tree

Hi,

We always put up our tree on the 1st December, so up it went as usual.

This year is our first year with Tink, with a dog that has a tail....

Tink... she doesn't mean to do the decorations any harm, but she's so happy all the time that she wags them off!!

Bailey is fine, he walks near it but doesn't bother it at all. Bailey's always happy too, but being without a tail means the tree is ok!

Its been a while since I have had a dog with a tail my problem is my new tree is to big and so is my new coffee table there is little room to walk between so the dogs brush the decorations off as they walk by I have a gate up to keep the dogs out anyway most of the time since Cooper is 6 months old he would have a ball with it if not being supervised

This was our first Christmas tree with Buster. Roxy, being 7, is used to it. We had to decorate it starting halfway on up. I just bought all new decorations last year and was afraid he would eat the glass orniments. The kids have collectibles they hang from Hallmark and we couldn't chance him eating those either! The cat hides under the tree and Buster tries to go after her so I'm really having to watch him and make sure he doesn't pull the tree over. The lengths we go to for our furbabies! :D

I think I may have to do the same! It's not like we can tell her off for being happy!!

Bailey used to try to destroy the shiny glass ball ornaments so I stopped using them. Beau has never had any fascination with ornaments. He sniffs and sniffs under the tree when I first put it up so I actually don't put ornaments on it for a day or two so he can get used to it just being up and once he's done sniffing around I'll put the ornaments on and he doesn't bother them. I guess I'm pretty fortunate in that aspect. On the couple of occasions they've gotten rowdy while playing in the living room near the tree I've quickly redirected them to another room. I will be putting the ornaments on my tree tonight so I really hope I haven't jinxed myself

We also put our tree up and xmas things around the house , juke not to keen on the singing santa he just sits they and stares at him and growls at the singing santa. We know if we leave juke in the room by himself he will find a way to shut the santa up , he got his way last year with the singing elfs they sing no more .

well i was worried about lossing some of my precious ornaments (mine from childhood and my mums ornaments i put up in her memory) so the first christmas with Miss brandy we brought some lattace and i painted it red and green and hubby made it into a playpen type thing that bolts to the door frame that the tree is put in front of every year without fail and i haven't lost an ornament since its been done so for us it works well.

Yep... we can't put anything round on our Xmas tree or it's a new mission to destroy! Also... any stuffed ornaments are off limits! And tinsel is off limits as well as it tends to come back out... if you know what I mean! :eek: We pretty much stick to just lights now!

What a great idea! We used a puppy playpen around the tree last year as Rolen was only about 3 months old, but your's is much more festive! We haven't gotten our tree yet, so we are going to wait and see how he behaves, but the puppy playpen might be up again this year!

Yes I will be putting up a tree again this year. I thought that maybe this year Zoe might have forgotten how much she likes those little round things on the tree. Hmmm After seeing her reaction to her Santa Hat something she hasn't seen since last year she stared at it and started backing away. I guess she does remember things very well. All those little plastic ball decorations I bought bounce so well when they hit the floor. So knocking them off is big fun. I think I belong in the insane asylum but I find it funny. Well at least most of the time.
