The Best Diet For A Boxer-Is this book worth buying?

Has any one read this book? Is it worth buying at $30? The author seems to have some very specific views on why every breed needs different foods.

I suspect not.

The only person I've ever seen promoting that sort of thing isn't what I'd call a credible source It was someone who'd spent their career developing some low quality kibbles for a large pet food manufacturer (which is what is promoted as making him "qualified"). And now retired, he's saying that stuff is all junk and the only proper way to feed a dog is exclusively on the foods that were common in the area that that particular breed evolved. Of course, you have to buy his books to get the information on what you should be feeding.

Seems very extreme to me (and extreme views are usually over the top ones, or outright ridiculous), and completely overlooks the fact that breeds like the boxer were developed from mixing several types of dog from some pretty diverse areas.

I mean, we all accept the brabant bullenbeiser as the primary ancestor. But the dog was brought into germany from france, mixed with several other breeds, mixed with english bulldog (that's a long way away ), then mixed some more with other local and imported breeds, and eventually the dog we know as the boxer emerged. Picking foods from a single region as the only suitable food for such a diverse dog just seems a bit ridiculous to me. Not to mention impractical.
