Indy's mom
Boxer Insane
We went to the dog park yesterday. There were a ton of dogs everything was going great. Got to the top of a hill and heard a little boy (about 8 or so) yelling 'A boxer, a boxer!' He was so excited. His dog Sandy, a female boxer, was playing with a few other dogs and he thought she should meet Indy. This boy was accompanied by both his parents, they were such a great family. He had been taught how to properly interact with the dogs and to let them play. He was clearly delighted to watch them all, almost bursting with wanting to get involved but only did when they came up to him. What a great job his parents are doing. appicon
A bit later Indy met a puppy, he loves puppies. This pup was a mix of English bulldog, American bulldog and boxer. If I remember correctly approx. 4 months old, this little rough and tumble guy looks for boxers. Indy assumed the classic play position with this guy, butt way up in the air, started to growl and let the tough guy come up and smash into him, the wrestling was on. The pups owners and I watched laughing the whole time. It sounded like blood and guts and Indy kept jumping around but he let that little guy bat him and they had a great time. It was eventually too much for a great Dane who came and gently walked through them, stood there and decided it needed to stop. I guess every playground has a monitor.
Around that time a very nice lady came up to Indiana and told him what a pretty face he had. Clearly this is the doggy version of the pied piper because when she walked away to make her lap of the park, my dog calmly followed. Hey!!!! Wait for me! She has a newfoundland and a golden retriever, Indy didn't care about either of them, he only had eyes for her...I think he was in love lovicon she kept telling him how pretty he was and while he usually plays and keeps running back to me, I could have been a lump of dirt until she walked away.
All in all it was sooo much fun. Indy had earned his play time by being extra good Friday for our Thanksgiving get together. I think he got paid back at the dog park by his doggy friends.
