Just wondering if any of you have a special time that you and the four legged family member have and spend together. A time that they look forward too as much as you do. Mine would have to be on Saturdays, around noon I usually head down the road to mess around with a few old cars or just sit around with family and friends and shoot the breeze. Anyway I take Toby with me and on the way I stop at the store and get something, well I made the mistake of sharing a beef jerky with you know who several times, and now if I don't stop at the store I get huffed at and he turns his back to me and pouts. So I have made it a habit to stop, what's funny is the girls behind the register lately when we pull in are waving a beef jerky through the window and pointing at it, this dog has powers over people I think, but I enjoy watching him try to wag that nub over shaking his butt in excitiment. Just wondering if any of you have a special time or treat you share together...

Our special day is on Sundays, when the entire day belongs to both he and Princess. I wake up and feed them their breakfast but on Sundays they also get liver cooked up and chopped up for them. Then we go sit in the living room and while they lay down I'll groom them. After we are all fully awake it's off to the park we go! If not the park then the beach, anywhere they would enjoy. After they burn off the energy we go to pet stores to see if anything interesting is out so they can get spoiled :) After the trip if they got filthy I will bathe them or wipe them down (to avoid too many baths). After that the eat dinner and will curl up next to me on the bed and KNOCK OUT.

Every evening after supper and the dogs are tired out (hopefully), I love to watch tv with both my babies cuddled up beside me. If I happen to be sitting in the recliner, Beau will climb up and go to sleep in my lap!

Every weekday morning is a special time with Dutch. My BF gets up for work and lets Dutch out and feeds him...but as soon as he is done eating...he runs into the bedroom and jumps back in bed with me for another half an hour. He curls up right next to me and then...when I get up...I throw the covers over him so the light doesn't bother him while he gets to snooze for a few more minutes while I get ready. Then when I have to get him up...he looks at me like he's saying "C'mon mom...stay home today" It makes it hard to leave for work everyday!

Wayneo--what a cute story :) Sometimes on weekends the BF goes out of town for the weekend or doesn't come home at night (out beericon) So when me and memphis get the bed to ourselves its heavenlovicon sleepicon. We always sleep really late!!!! I live for those mornings!!!

Muggsey and I have our special time after Daddy leaves for work at around 5am. We stay all snuggled in bed and spoon until I have to get up for work around 8am. Then on Tuesdays and Sundays, we have another special family time because those are my days off and I can go to the park with hubby and Muggsey. We usually go around 3:45pm. At around 3:30 Muggsey will get up and start walking around to tell us that it is time to go upstairs and get bundled up in our park clothes. He runs up the steps with us and woo's and dances the whole time we are getting dressed!! If we dont go to the park for some reason, he just mopes around and gives us the eyes and makes us feel like we are the worst parents ever!!

What a great thread!!
Nana and I share our "special time" every morning. Every day is the same routine *except on weekends it happens a little later in the morning**
Nana wakes me up in the morning by trying to nuzzle her little head under my arms so she can give me a good morning kiss. Then it is right outside for a quick "do your business" walk. Since she gets me up so early that I have at least an hour before i have to start getting ready for work- we always jump right back in bed for a morning snuggle! When it comes time to get up to get ready for work, she just looks as me as if to say " It's that time already Mom?"
I think boxer babies are a pretty good way to start your day!

Our girls get their special day on Sundays. My hubby usually has an outdoor soccer game. They jump into the car and off we go. They meet their other doggie friends there and play. They get off the tie out stake at the end of the game and boxer burn around the field together while the adults sit around and shoot the breeze for a while. They know what "Soccer Sunday" is! Then we go home and all konk out.
