I get the sad face every afternoon while I'm trying to work out. Brutus will come into the room and try to get my attention. When I ignore him, he lies down smack in the middle of my exercise mat, looks up at me with "the eyes" and gives a loud sigh. Then he proceeds to take a nap with his tongue sticking out.

I think they do this on purpose because they know we will feel bad and give them treats or hugs or play something to give them attention, like they don't get enough of that....we love them for the sad eyes and drool, and gas and everything else that I can't think of...

Ritzy57- the next time maverick does that i will laugh at him. yesterday we were at my moms and she was eating cheese sticks and i said mom dont give him any cheese sticks well i went out of the room and i came back in the kitchen and maverick was chowing donw on a piece of a cheese stick and i said MOM and she started laughing and said well he just looked pitiful he layed down and looked up at me. i said o lord. they are the funniest animals. they definately know how to sucker you in. i sometimes think maverick is sick becaue he will mope around. yesterday i was off work and he was just terrible he was geting in the garbage and running next door. its like he was a totally different dog. i guess he was prob bored. he made me so angry. but i wouldnt trade him for the world.

Taren, my husband and I are old. We don't have the spice to keep up with a healthy 19 mo. old. He seemed to be moping around a lot, after we got him.
Hie breeder told me what to do. GET ANOTHER ONE!! :)
Snoop doesn't mope around anymore. Dottie keeps him on his toes. Now that they are familiar with each other, and with our house, they play together, and they sleep together. They vie for OUR attention, and that in itself, is too funny.
Snoop doesn't mope around anymore! And, neither do we! :)

i dont fall for that sad face anymore.

Last time i got it, i go downstairs and find my sons baby laxative bottle chewed up on the floor...completely empty.....

He kind of hangs his head and turns it slightly to the side and looks up from under his eyebrows (if you call them that). And his nub trembles.

the "pouting lip look" is what gets me the most--when rocky cannot have something he wants--we get the pouting lip--it makes me turn to mush, but he still cannot have daddy's ice cream or cookies!!

i still feel sad when i leave my babies, they have such the "mama don't leave us" look.
