Boxer Pal
Thank you all for your insight and advice. First let me say that I am so sorry for your losses. I can't imagine how hard it must be to suddenly lose your babies and not know why and at such young ages.
I have talked with my vet again and after much soul searching , I have decided not to do the meds. Doc is 10 years and 3 months old and after much research and information from the vet, she feels that his heart , with or without meds will not be strong enough for him to be on this earth much longer.( she says maybe at most a few months) If he was in pain, which he is not, it would be a different story.
I have had many dogs of different breeds and I considered myself so blessed to have had my boxer boy come into my life. He has given me much love and joy and forever will be my most special love of all.
Again, I thank you all so much for everything...

Hard choice...

I understand your actions- it is a hard choice to know when "it is time for nature to take its turn". We lost our boy, Bain, in Feb. to prostate cancer (7 1/2 years old). It was hard but we knew it was time to put him down--he got pretty sick!! It sounds like you LOVE YOUR DOG to death and would do what you needed out of love. Every dog has its day- and I knew, just like you, that I would out live the best dog on earth!! I feel for you- it is hard! I want to share that putting Bain down - was so better than finding him dead at home. I was able to hold his hand (paw) and talk to him as he passed. I gave him a million kisses and long for him to this day...I would do anything to hold him again!!! (oh- this is making me cry!!). It was smooth for him. I did get his ashes and am soo glad he his home forever!!!! You know in your heart what is best for your baby!!! Get a big box of tissues, have no regrets, and ride it though!! I do hope you have another dog of to focus your love on once your baby is gone....it helps......best of luck.....
