Thanks for sharing
This was nice to read thanks.. As far as being with your pet if you have to put them to sleep.. I would say absolutly be there.. Yes it is very hard and very sad and it hurts more then words can express.. But #10 says it all.. They trust in you and love you want to be with you till that very last moment.. it seemed like when ever I was blue or sick he was always there to comfort me and be by my side. and I wanted to return his loyalty and be there with him when he needed us the most..
I think about Riley every single day and I miss him so very much more then words can express also.. but I know in my heart that I got to love him and hug him on his last day before he went on to the bridge and he did his best to show all of us that he loved us too even though he was so sick..
It seemed like he was more at ease that our whole family was there with him instead of just the care takers and staff who worked at the hospital.. after all they were just doing their job they didn't love him like we did..
I do wish I could of been stronger for him and could of held in my emotions more Cause I didn't want him to know how sad we were
We all cried lots and lots as We each held him before we said goodbye.. and we stayed there with him for a long time after wards too.. I'm so glad that he knew we were there and I think he also knew how much we all loved him..
I am greatful that we got the chance to be with him or I think I would be feeling that sadness over not being there to hug him.. and wishing that We could tell him how much we loved him and how much we tried everything with in our power to make him better,, and that we were so sorry but that he was going to a wonderful place called the rainbow bridge he would hurt no more and would be well again, free to run chase and play with others already watiing there.. until we would met again one day..
