My boxer is 13 months old fawn female with black mask, she weighs 52 lb at the moment and seems healthy. Shes eating regularily and toileting fine, however she has not had her first heat yet nor has she started teething yet. I have two other dogs and we knew both times they were teething, I had to pull a least two from each dog. But my boxerI don't think has started yet. Whats the normal time line for teething and how big would the adult teeth be? in inchs as I can measure and see if she sneaked it past me, thank you for any help, Nick.

I think she's certainly snuck the teething thing past you - teething happens when they're puppies, between 4-6 months of age.
First heat is a different matter - it's quite normal for boxer females to have their first heat at any time between 7-24 months. That is why it is recommended that they be spayed at 6 months of age - the maximum health benefit comes with spaying before the first heat. Is there any particular reason your girl is still intact at 13 months?

Our puppy Kozmo who is just going to be 5 months old went thru a lot of teething drama about 2 weeks ago. He was losing teeth like crazy, there was lots of blood, on chew toys and bones and he didn't eat for several days. We actually have 3 of his baby teeth.
On the other hand with my 3 1/2 yr old female boxer Zoe, we never knew when she went thru teething. We never found any teeth, she never acted any different and she always ate:D. It was like one day she had baby teeth and the next she had all of her adult teeth.

We left her intact as we were considering breeding in the future. How long are your boxers adult k9's. My other dogs are mixed breeds smaller dogs and there teeth seem to be very close to the length of my boxers. I was brought up with German sheppards and there teeth are well much bigger you know just by looking at them they are adult teeth or not. Let me know so I can check them, thanks again Nick

why? you ask me, well one its my choice in a free society to lawfully do as I please and for the abundent other reasons such as I love the breed and want to own a few more as pets for me and be able to provide good, healthy examples of boxers for others and thus continuing the existance of the breed. I may want to start showing or competeing in trails etc and while I am gathering information on whats required in imense detail before I make a decision as to whether to follow this path or not I have left her intact so I have that choice available. Part of my research has lead me to this web site and this is why I am here. I am not stupid and would fully explore all the avenues associated with breeding before I jumped in head first

Don't take offense to the question.... The subject of breeding is very touchy here on BW and just make sure you do your research. Your bitch needs to have proper health testing done before even being thought about breeding material. Look through some previous posts about breeding, also check out the rules forum and see what it has to say.
As far as your question about teething....your girl has already gone though the teething process. I barely noticed when Brandy lost her teeth. Just every once in awhile I found a tooth, or I'd be playing with her & notice her tooth missing already.

This board definately takes breeding very seriously, and is a fantastic place to get information. Showing in Conformation definately goes hand-in-hand w/ breeding, so check out the Show Boxer section too! 
And if you don't already have one, find yourself a mentor who has been involved w/ showing (and winning of course) for a number of years. He/she will be an invaluable resource to you when it comes to evaluating your bitch, showing your dogs, getting the proper health tests, finding a suitable stud dog that is a great match w/ your bitch, and finally breeding (as that should be last on the list of things to do). best of luck.-Kat
