Hello all, I had a question. Oscar started grinding his teeth a while back. Usually when he sits/lays down. He doesn't do it just once either. He'll lick his chops and try to get comfortable and grind his teeth anywher from once to five times. The Vet didn't really give us much info (we're not inpressed with our vet anyways and will be changing here soon) just that he has a slight overbite...however, he hadn't started to do it until about 2-3 mo. after we had him. That doesn't seem to ad up to me. Anyone else have this problem? Is it normal? Any info would be great!

Some dogs just grind their teeth; however, it can often be a sign of pain, so I'd have a thorough physical done to rule out that possibility.

On the 5th he was at the vet for about 4 hrs or so getting a check up. Blood work and a few other things. I would think that they would have came across something and told us if there was someting like that right?? Thanks for the info, I'll keep my eyes open. I started right after we had taken him in to the vet a while back in like Feb. or March. Maybe that's what caused it....?

Palmer does the same thing. When he getting comfortable and settling down for the night or a nap he grinds his teeth. Kind of annoying to listen too.

Oh, that horrible noise. Porter started doing about 5 months old. Just the same as you described. He is 7 months now and it has calmed down quite a bit. He also has a HUGE underbite (his tongue and teeth are always hanging out).

I even asked MY dentist about this. He was a touch insulted though, OOps

Thanks for letting me know, I didn't know if it was just him or not. Extreamly annoying. Mike is scared that it will ruin his teeth....they are so short to begin with that it's hard to tell if he's made them any shorter.
