We had to take Trucker back to the vet to get his ears taped up again. The right one looks great, but the left one only lasted about 24 hours standing, then it started flopping over. But my question is, is there a trick to doing the taping ourselves? My vet said that when we come back they will have to charge for it and it will be $20.00 for each taping. Don't call me cheap, but we have been taping at least once a week, and after a while that adds up. If there is a way that we can do this ourselves, we would rather. I don't want to give up on his ears because they are lasting longer when they take the tape off, but just won't stay. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I would definitely ask them if you can watch, or even if they would teach you how to do it. $20.00 each time is way to much!! My vet only charged by $5.00 each time. I made sure to watch him closely everytime and eventually started doing it myself, it's not very hard at all.

I also take Thor to the vet but will start taping myself after today (his last visit). I did watch the vet do it but they were hesitant to let me. There is a wonderful tutorial on cinema boxers website that will give you a list of supplies and how to do it. Good luck!

You absolutely can do the taping yourself. It gets easier each time you do it, so don't worry about being inexperienced. Perhaps there is an experienced breeder in your area who wouldn't mind giving you a lesson.

WHen a person gets their boxer pup's ears cropped they need to be taped so that they stand up correctly. The amount of time they need to be taped depends on the dog.
You can also type uncropped ears so they lay better
