Taking Roxy to the specialist tomorrow- paralysis in hind legs

Roxy is 4 y/o. On Valentines Day we took her for a ride to get a treat and when she got out of the car we thought she hurt herself b/c she started limping. Called the vet and she said to wait a few days and see if she got better. Brought her in after a week and the limp getting worse. Vet said it didn't appear to be a tear and to give her some pain meds and wait a week. Took her back b/c she was getting worse. Went from a mild limp with the right hind leg to now both legs losing use and a slight dragging of her right hind leg. When she walks/ attempts to run it is almost like a skip now. Her backside pulls to the right and there is very little hind quarter control. We built her ramps but when she starts to go down them her hind quarters starts sliding and she has trouble going around corners and getting her butt to go where she wants. I am hoping for some answers. Vet did some xrays and saw some spots on her spine by her butt that she was concerned about (gaps in her spine). She gave us some tramadol but Roxy keeps getting worse so we are taking her to a specialist tomorrow. I am scared to find out what is wrong with her but I keep praying that it is something we can fix. Roxy just turned 4.

Sorry to hear about Roxy. Could it be DM? Sending lost of positive vibes your way. I hope the specialist figures out what is wrong and that she will get better. :)

Thank you all! I have wondered about DM but she just turned 4 this week so it seems like she is so young for that. I don't know what it is- just hoping for answers. Tuesday she was great and had a lot of energy and last night she did not want to do anything. I think she is just now realizing her limitations b/c she is scared to do anything- even walk on the kitchen floor and we have put rugs out for her so it isn't slippery. Honestly, I am a little scared of what it could be.
