Most boat dealers also carry pet life jackets. They are right with the human life jackets. I worked for a boat dealer for a while and they always threw in free life jackets for skin and fur babies.

I was at the lake this summer and one of the campers next to us had one of these for their dog. I cant remember the breed but it was a small dog. It was too cute. He put the vest on the dog, and climbed on a raft and then just held the dog close to him. It looked like the dog was just floating along next to him. After a couple of min you could see his raft start to turn in a circle. It was like a one sided canoe paddle. It just kept swimming him in circles.

On a more serious note. At one point the dog got turned in his vest and it actually had its head stuck under the vest for about 10 seconds. I was running down the hill to the water to help him but the owner got him straightened out before I got there.

If you start your boxer out young they can learn to swim. Cash loves to swim and is very good at it

Roxy can make it about a foot then starts to go under and really will only go in if I'm in the water (holding the cat !!) we gave her the whole summer but will get her a life jacket next year to cold to swim now, and you cant push her near the water
will have to wait till the lake freezes then look out nothing like a soccer ball on the ice thats a good 2 hrs of non stop running !!

i am not sure how tessa would do in a pool. we are getting one put in 3 months (gotta love south florida). but i took tessa to the beach, she loved walking in the sand but HATED the ocean. any ideas on how to get her at least used to the water since there is so much of it here?
