Boxer Pal
My baby, Titan, will be a year on Jan 26th. He is extremely hyper. He is non stop playing, running, jumping, etc. Is there anything I can do to tame his energy?

I never figured that one out. I had to wait the 2-1/2 - 3 years for a little calming down. One suggestion I have for a temporary fix is to try to run the energy out of him. Long walks, lots of fetch.... anything that will make him tired.

besides giving lots of excercise, Gunther's one day a week at doggy day-care has help alot in burning off some of that energy.

my roxie was like this so bad too the point my family would not let me bring her over cause she was too rambunctous bouncing jumping running biting everything could not get her to tire but at 1 year i have a playful but lazy little girl

Boxer Insane
My Sandy is 3.5 yrs old and still plays most of the day. She takes cat naps throughout the day if she is in the house. If she is outside, she just goes and goes. But when she goes to sleep, she is out for the count.

Redirecting energy is the best thing... give your baby a job and she will be much happier. Sandy & Napoleon have to keep all the squirls out of the yard, I yell squirl and both of them take off an check out every tree in the yard.

hyper puppy

lots and lots of exercise. chloe gets an off leash full-out run every day and it does wonders for her behavior

Another boxerbaby of course! A good bout of good old fashioned boxerplay tires my boy out for a while then comes round 2 ect. ect. Everyone is correct you must exercise and redirect all of that energy, Ramos loves to play with frisbees, and all I have to do is keep throwing it. Brisk daily walks are also a good way to burn some of that puppy energy but in the end if you are exercising with your boxer, chances are likely that your baby will long outlast you. This will abate somewhat although many boxers are lively throughout their life as many say "boxers are puppies for life" but in the end would we have it any other way.

Jazz461

Boxer Pal
My previous boxer before Jazz lived til she was 12 1/2 and always had time for playing and running. The gaps inbetween playing got bigger for sleeping as she got older but she never lost her spirit and Jazz who's 16 months seems like she's going to be that way too, we try to wear her out and she gets 4 walks a day but it never works, her toys are just too tempting to leave alone. She does sleep very well at night though.

Cami

Boxer Insane
That's one of the things my hubby has issues with. Me on the other hand loves the fact that a Boxer's spirit is usually going 100% all the time. Cami plays hard for A LONG time from around 7am to 11pm but when she is done she is out for the night. Wish we could bottle that energy.
She is now just over 21 months old and I don't see any signs of slowing down.
