Super Day at the Dog Park!!

Really? I like the little one we go to. Is that the one where you have bad experiences?

We had 1 bad experience at a park that requires permit, but the owner left with his dog immediately after she misbehaved. She was a boxer too! I've never had a bad experience other than that one, but I don't go often, either.

at the little one we go to, a guy brought an intact male in the decided he was going to eat nikos face. also the one on black road we went there before we knew it was permit only right after we got there and shepard attacked Niko when the police came the informed us the we needed a permit and would have to leave.

there have been a few little dogs at the little park we go to that thought they would try to eat Niko to but he has grown accustom to pretty much ignoring them.

like i said i love the little park except alot of the times there arent too many if any big dogs there.

I am still debaating on whether or not I want to take Duchess there.... When I first adopted her from the breeder, I found out she was in heat but before I knew this, I took her to the doggie park and she was not very playful nor did she want anything to do with the other dogs there. Ever since she got spayed, she has wanted to say hi and play with every dog we see on our walks. I have a feeling she was crabby when I took her because she was starting to go into season. Thank heavens there were no intact males there and since she didn't want to play or be bothered, we left right away.

Sounds like a great time at the park. I'm always excited when another boxer shows up even if it's Jesse. Jesse has a dominance issue and likes to roll Bentley over but he's never really been mean. He sounds horrible but if you watch him he's just making noise. Bentley still seems to think he's wonderful for some reason and always wags his little nub when he seems him and tries to lick his jowels. Sounds like you guys have the making of a boxer day!! It's amazing how excited I get when it's boxer day weekend

I would have loved to have been there. I havent been able to see what happens when two or more boxers get around each other. I am glad that you had a good time at the park, and I hope that those people will get off your back.

we 've had a couple incidents lately with dogs mounting cassius (cassius is fixed)- at first, cassius just stands there like, ok can we get this over with and go back to playing? and usually the dog hops off and off they go- but the last couple times this has happened, the dog has stayed mounted a few seconds too long and cassius just kicks their butt. He's certainly not viciously attacking the other dog- he's just making a lot of noise like he is, but the other dog owners FREAK OUT at this and start yelling to get my dog away and try to get in the middle of it. I feel bad that the owners are concerned but it has never escalated to a point where i have been concerned.

this is a boxer who goes up to complete strangers and stands in front of them basically commanding them to pet him.

but the good news is that I took him out our dog park this weekend and we had no incidents-

ehope, I think Cassius has every right to tell the other dog to get off him. Alot of times dogs give off very subtle signals to the other dog and if they don't get it, sometimes they have to take it a step further and get loud and tell the other dog off more intensely. I think your boy can teach valuable lessons to the offending dogs since he will tell them they are being inappropriate in a very clear way and without hurting them. When I would take my boy Duke to the dog park, he would often correct dogs who got inappropriate with him and would make quite a seen snarling and growling... He never ever hurt another dog, but since the other owners would always freak out, I decided not to take him to the park anymore. Duchess on the other hand, did great on her visit to the dog park today!

That many boxers is always equal to a great time. Well, an exciting one!! There were four boxers at petsmart when we were there. They were getting all the stares and looks. Everyone wanted to watch them and they showed how they wiggled and played. It was way too cute.
