Hi All,

I'm wondering what the wroking poeple do to entertain their boxers all day when no one is around ??

Any special treats, activities or habits you keep to living up her long day of waiting after her masters ?

It seems Daisy is very bored staying home alone all day(8 hours while we work), it's written all over her face

Suggestiosn appreciated...

In fact we were wondering if she isnt suffering from depression, cause she often has that look like Bismarck on the home page ...

I f so is there a cure for this ?
(besides taken her outside 5 times per day ~)

One word....Kong!! One website... http://www.kongcompany.com/

It probably doesn't keep them busy all day...but it helps for part of the time! And it's a great treat for getting them into the crate. We freeze cream cheese or peanut butter over night in them and it takes them longer to get it all out. The site above have lots of great ideas for filler recipes.

Spike loves music...I guess he doesn't feel so alone when he hears music in the background. We find him sleeping when we get home rather than creating a mess someplace out of boredom.

As long as Harley has a window to look out of (and bark at people of course), toys all over the place, and of course the t.v. on he seems to do pretty well. I always scatter his toys around the house and of course roll him a ball with some treats inside. We are guessing this keeps him occupied. Still hoping to invest in a web cam so we can spy :D

Thanks, but so far thought I would add that she has everything that was mentionned : tv on, toys scattered, access to yard ...

I will try the Kong trick though, thanks~

Any other secrets out there ??

My Harla is also crated. We leave at 6:30am and our daughter is home first around 3:00. The Kong is a blessed item to have. I usually spread peanut butter around the inside of it and pour yogurt in and freeze. She loves it and I imagine it must keep her busy for hours. I also will leave her Nylabone and a few stuffed toys for her also. I'm sure though she spends time gazing out the backdoor and sleeping.

Is it possible to take her for a run in the morning before you leave? Maybe if she were tired out then she would sleep and forget she is alone.

We ended up getting a second boxer, for us as well as to help with Tess's separation anxiety. What more can be said.....they keep each other entertained and I certainly never have to go without hugs and that "special" comfort we all need sometimes.
