Sugar's Mom

Boxer Pal
Hello Boxer Lovers!

My dear Sugar is a one-year-old brindle (half dark, half tan) girl, sweet as they get even though she is a bit undersized. She stands 21 inches at the shoulder but weighs only 42 pounds. We feed her well and are very attentive to her health. She was very ill when she came to us with worms, then hurt herself with a stick when she was very young (punctured her soft palate) and then had a tummy bug (inhalded a parasite), all within her first four months. But now she is terrific, full of energy and love. If I sit on the floor Sugar crawls into my lap, or at the very least lays her head on my leg. She watches the street from the bay window, has a selection of three huge pillows to lie on, and takes the mandatory mad chase around the house at least once a day. She loves other doggies, all children and most people, and has never so much as nipped at anyone. She just loves to greet people, kidney bean and give lots of kisses. My husband and I fell in love with her at age 9 weeks, when she crawled into his lap and stood up to put her paws on his shoulder and nibble his ear... and then she did the same thing to me! She is my first dog, and my hubby says she is a super-good dog because she has never touched the furniture or eaten any socks.... although she did manage to get her "Elizabethan Collar" off and ate the gauze... Fortunately it all came out the other end, but gosh that gave us a scare! I look foward to visiting this board and posting a few pics of our beautiful little "doghter."

Hello and Welcome! Sugar sounds like she's such a sweetheart:) Pretty talented girl (altough not funny at the time) that she managed to get her Elizabethen collar off. Leave it to a Boxer to figure out how to do that  Hope to see you posting many stories of Sugar soon, as well as new picture's :)

My very first boxer girl back in 1977 was named Sugar. She was a great dog too. Welcome to Boxerworld. I think this is the place that all of us boxer addicts hang out. Great place and great info. After having a boxer, your life will never be the same.
