Suddenly scared of outside?

Zeke has never enjoyed being outside. He thinks he is an indoor only dog. Bella on the other hand loves to play out there. Although Zeke doesn't like being out he always willingly goes out to potty or if I get him a bone.

For the past few days he is suddenly VERY hesitant to go out. Even with a BIG dog bone. Bella was jumping excitedly to go out with a bone and he usually does but he put his tail down and his head. He will only go out right now if my DH or I am with him. I though maybe fireworks scared him but he is scared even when there are none. He doesn't enjoy fireworks but he has never acted like this before. Zeke & Bella are never outside alone. They are always with each other and always if DH and I are home.

Any suggestions?

Could it be because of the heat? Since its gotten hot here, Balboa is the same way. Normally if the other dogs go out he's right there with them, but not since it got hot. I have make him go or go outside with him. If I go out with him, he wants to stay right by my side. Afraid I'll go back in without him. He's not one bit spoiled. :rolleyes:

I was wondering if that was it. We have been making him stay out a little more because he got that season thing where his hair was thinning out and the vet suggested he get some sunshine.
