Boxer Booster
I took Jasmine to a park about 10 minutes away today to find a fenced in area that she could just run wild (I had seen completely fenced in tennis courts when I drove by this weekend)... the tennis courts were empty but chained up so I was feeling a little discouraged. Then right behind them I saw a huge softball field that was also unoccupied.
I know most fields are not completely fenced in but this one was!!! I was so excited!! I closed the fences and let Jasmine run!! She went forever... around, around, around... She was making me dizzy. When she calmed down a bit we played fetch for about 1/2 an hour till she dropped from exhaustion! She was so happy, and I was thrilled to be able to let her run herself silly...
We dont have a fenced in yard and live next to a pretty busy street so we dont let Jasmine play off her lead (we got her a 20' lead that we hold while we play catch)... It lets her get excercise but I know its not to her full capability. I also walk her twice a day (for 1/2 an hour at lunch and another 45 minutes after work) so she gets her fresh air and it keeps me in shape.
So count down to May 2005 for two reasons... cause thats when we get our fence installed and Jasmine can run her little heart out... and thats when my husband and I are going to get another boxer boy to complete our family (we wanted a fence to keep them both safe and happy)!!
I just wanted to share my happiness that I found somewhere that Jasmine and I can have our special time and where she can feel as free as we want her to feel. Also... why dosent Western New York have any dog parks????? That would be so much easier than trying to find a fenced in public place with no kids so my boxer can go wild (I'm sure parents wouldn't appreciate a boxer running crazy while their children try to play on the playground)!!!
