Our baby, Macie, is a 6 month old pup. When we take her to the dog park and other times when we meet other dogs, she is very submissive and creeps over to them slinking down w/ her tail between her legs.

Is this common? Anyone else have a similar experience?

We try to praise her on the odd occasion she meets a dog and attempts to play with them "normal"....and we try not to baby her when she appears scared.

Hopefully, she will become "stronger" when she ages?

I don't have an answer for you but my girl is 18 months old and will still occasionally show submission to other dogs. Size does not seem to matter. I wouldn't worry about it unless during these times she seems fearful of these other dogs. I think that they know doggie behavior way better than we ever will and new introductions of other dogs, by submission, smelling or play bows seems more favorable than snarling and showing teeth.

How does your dog act after the initial introduction? Does she seem to get more confident as the interaction is taking place? She is still a baby and still learning how to act and be a well mannered dog. Maybe letting her build up her confidence with family member or friends dogs would be a better starting place for her vs. a dog park with lots of strange dogs and new people.

Just my 2 cents.
