Boxer Buddy
Brutis and Baby

I know this thread is a little old, but I couldnt resist. When I was in Panama City, Florida we had a boxer named Brutis. When my oldest son was about six months old we would place him on a quilt in the middle of the living room floor. Brutis would lay on one edge of the quilt with Ryan next to him. Ryan would suddenly roll as fast as he could to the other side of the quilt. Brutis would wait until the last minute then jump up and run around the quilt, laying down in Ryan's way and blocking him from rolling off the quilt. I sat for hours and laughed while these two kids played, and Brutis never caused any damage (and never let him off the quilt!).

Jade's Mom

Super Boxer
A lot of people get boxers and pit bulls mixed up, maybe they were just confused about the breed.

I know that on a personal level that our puppy jade absolutly loves babies. She is around a newborn, a 1 year old, and a 4, 5, and 8 year old and she is gentle, protective, and sweet. When the newborn starts to cry she always looks at me like, "mom, make my baby happy, I dont want him to cry."

Boxers are the best dogs ever, and they are great with kids.

Diesel Dog

Boxer Booster
there is a playground by the my house, and it urks me to no end when people start rounding up there kids when I walk Diesel by there to pottie or just on walks. He hasn't been around many kids there are not any in my family and very few on my street, but my neighbor 6 month old he's great with. He'll walkover and sniff her in her pumpkin seat or strowler (sp?), and just laydown next to her. And as she was learning to roll and scoot, she's scooted off the couch onto him one day. Not that its a good thing, but he just layed there like what the ? Didn't move. just stayed there being a landing pad/pillow. I think they'll be pretty good friends as they get older.

Boxer Pal
Boxer and Great Dane and baby

I have a 10 yr. old boxer that was 8 yrs. old when my son was born. He was the "only child" for 8 years. I was concerned about him being jealous, protective, etc. over the new baby. Before I brought Ashton home from the hospital, I had my dh bring home a blanket that Ashton was wrapped up in and give it to Tyson. He said that Tyson sniffed and rolled on it. When I brought the baby home - I made sure that I went into the house first while Jason waited outside for a few minutes with the baby. I gave Tyson tons of loving and treats and let him settle down. I then ok'd Jason to bring in Ashton. We left Ashton in the car carrier and let Tyson sniff him and check him out before we took him out of the carrier. Then we let Tyson sniff him and check him out on our laps. We tried not to make a big deal out him sniffing the baby. Of course, we watched every move that Tyson made. Tyson was absolutely wonderful! He was actually alot more gentle than I thought. About 3 months later I brought home a great dane puppy. Tyson was so protective of Ashton that he didn't want Lucy, the dane, anywhere near that baby. Tyson and Ashton are best friends now. Tyson slept under the crib from day 1 and now he sleeps in Ashton's bed with him every night, every nap and even when Ashton is just in his room playing with his toys. Ashton cannot go anywhere without Tyson right behind him.
