Boxer Insane
Hey there! Gosh, I haven't been on here in forever.
A little back story - our 11 year old boxer furbaby, Asia, has been having seizures since she was very young, maybe a year or two old. They used to happen once a year and gradually progressed to probably twice a year. This year, she had three in a matter of two months. The seizures are always the same - she is playing, falls to her side, kicks, urinates and magically gets up like everything is fine. The whole thing lasts probably 30 seconds. She is confused for a few minutes and her gums are always pale, but within 5 minutes, she is her normal self again. That was not the case tonight.
She hopped off the couch and began stumbling. I thought she was going to have a seizure so I yelled for my husband. She just kind of stumbled around the living room panting and drooling. She never fell but looked like she was going to. I had her sit down and pet her and loved on her but her eyes looked like they were somewhere else and her gums were white. About 3 minutes later, the drool stopped and she looked at me like she was fine, got up and wanted to go outside. It was very much like her seizures, just without actually falling over.
I plan to call our vet first thing tomorrow morning. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience like this before? I know she is 11 years old but we have had her since she was 7 weeks. She is our first baby and our three year old sons best friend and I'm just terrified of what to expect.
