Stuffed Friends... no more...

Roxy has toren a hole in her big Loofa dog from Petsmart... her lil blue bear BLU... any stuffed toy that she can get... She rips it. she loves them though... Any one have any suggestions on stuffed friends that their pups haven't demolished within the first week that don't cost and arm and leg?? Roxy misses having a friend to carry around!

Oh we have surgery night about once a week and mom stiches the friends back up only to be shredded again! My boys love the stuffed toys best of all but we have yet to find any that last very long either! If they really like one I buy several to replace when one is too far gone!

I can't give you any recommendations especially since I am an ocean away, but Odie still has a few of his no longer stuffed toys that he carries around. Once the stuffing starts going, I just get rid of it and Odie runs around with the rag of a toy that is left :D

can't suggest any that really hold up but try the dollar store.

Precious has a rubber chicken. ha. She loves it. She just lays on it and licks it. Odd really.

Ha Ha... Ya Roxy carries around a rag we have that we tied in a knot and some fabric Geogia Bulldog frisbee that the rim in is red rubber and she will chew on that and her squeaky balls that we throw around... but no friends... she LOVED her friends... we will try some other ones some time...

Ruben loves what we call his 'babies'. He usually destroys around one a week. We try to buy the cheapest ones we can find just making sure they don't have button eyes or nose because those are always the first things to go.

My JRT is a terrorist when it comes to stuffed "guys." The best ones I have found are the ones with a single seam. Either bone shaped ones, the man shaped ones, snakes, etc. because pulling on it won't rip the seam. When she was younger these still didn't last LONG, but they lasted longER.

Yes, I just bought Sammy the Hide-A-Squirrel and it lasted all of 1 night. I ended up just surgically removing the squeakers from the squirrels to use in other toys that are lined up for surgery. Her loofa dog has one sewn eye and the other is pretty close to needing it.

My mom had a rat terrier that loved stuffed animals. She started going to good will or salvation army and buying a garbage bag of toys for a $1 or 2 and they would last for a good month. She would make sure she took off any buttons etc, that could hurt him and it worked great. I just started doing it with my 6 month old pup.
