Stubborn streak or is something wrong?

My 1 1/2 year old male boxer has always loved his walks but in the last few weeks he has been exhibiting some strange behavior. We will be out walking and all of a sudden he will stop for no reason and won't budge. He isn't stopping to sniff anything. We can be in the middle of crossing the street and all of a sudden he won't budge. The only way I can get him to move is to change direction. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm getting so I don't want to take him out because tugging on him isn't good and he's too big to carry home. Help!

Adam has done this too - even during puppy class!! I kinda got the impression that there was something that set him off - something he saw or something he smelled. Tho I've never seen/smelled it. I have asked him to "show me", but after we look around and all appears ok, he goes on his way.

I hear ya tho! No way I could carry him home! LOL
