Stress with moving

We moved from a house to what was supposed to be a temporary apartment 3 months ago. Now it looks like we're going to be in the apartment for at least 5 more months due to construction delay on our condo. Since we've moved, we've been to the vet twice for stress colitis (one time for Maizie, 6 years and one time for Jack, 10 years) AND at least two calls each to the vet for serious cases of diarrhea. Yesterday Jack started vomiting and if it doesn't stop by today, I'll run him to the vet tomorrow to make sure he is ok. (he is only vomitting after he eats, so I held his food this morning) Does anyone have any suggestions for other ways to handle the stress of moving? I've checked and rechecked the apartment for anything that could be making them sick. My husband thinks it is b/c of the move and they don't have their yard to play in anymore. We thought of moving and renting a house until our condo is done, but I think that would stress them out even more having to move twice.

I also started back to school full time so our schedules are all new, also. Any suggestions would be appreciated, we'll try anything so they will feel better.

Both my dogs have suffered from colitis the whole time I have had them. It's definately aggravated by stress. Some things I've found helpful when moving are to keep the dogs schedual as consistant as possible, tire them out as much as possible and to keep a few items that smell familiar to them around (although if you've been their for 3 months already....)
As for the colitis, a high fibre kibble, which you can get at the vet's, often works. The thing that finally solved to colitis in the case of my dogs was Essex Cottage Farms Gastro Formula, but you have to actually make the food, as it is not kibble.
You might also want to try a Bach Flower Remedies, which is available at health food stores and will has a few different types for stress, fear ect.

My DH and I are in the military and our schedules change alot. I try to make a time for the "kids" each day either a long walk or a session of fetch. I also take them to the dog park (I can't do that now because Lexi is sik). Exercise does reduce stress, just like in humans. I hope your babies get well soon-amyB

My dad just moved and our Cocker Spaniel keeps going to the bathroom in the house. I definitely think moving causes a big stress for them. They're in totally unfamiliar surroundings. We're moving in a month or so and I'm worried that my two Boxers will have problems as well. I would definitely try to keep them as much on schedule as you can. I'm sure it's difficult when you're in school full-time. Maybe there's someone who can come over during the day to check on them?? My dad does that for us, which helps just to get them out to potty and to exercise a little bit.
Good luck. I hope they're feeling better soon.
