I am just curious if your babies have thinning hair in the armpits of their front legs??
Because the winters here in Canada are so cold i got Nina a sweater and i am wondering if maybe the sweater is rubbing the hairs? She isnt bald there...its just a lot thinner than lets say her back.
Nina is my 1st boxer...so I dont know if this is normal hair growth or not.
Thanks

Toni is my first boxer also. I too notice that the hair in what would be the arm pit, crotch and stomach area is thinner than that on the erst of her. She has always been like that so I am assuming that it is normal. The vet has never said anything about it. Someone with much more experience will jump in here and we will know for sure.

Chloe is thinner there too; maybe because they sweat - so the skin needs more room to breathe? dunno... :)

Thank you for the replies....I WORRY with my 3 skin kids and now with Nina i worry just as much...maybe even more so...since she is my 1st dog.
I am glad the hairgrowth is a normal thing.
Nina is laying on the sofa with her teddy bear...SNOOOOORING away......what a life!!!LOL

Paisley is thin around those areas too. I don't think it's because of 'sweating' as dogs aren't supposed to sweat; that's why they pant instead! :)

Titan is "thinning" in those areas also--ha ha. Guess it must be normal or else all of our dogs so far are goofy foolicon

Hello to all,

Martin has thinner hair in all these areas as well. It is partially because of the weather (hot weather and moderate winter here in Greece) and partially because he is living indoors which means that he sheds far more hair in order to compensate for the temperature conditions. I have seen boxers that live outside that have thicker hair although they too have slighlty less hair in their stomach and armpits.

Riley's armpits have thinner hair too...I never thought there was anything wrong with it...her whole underside is less dense than the rest of her coat. When she lays on her back I tickle her in her armpits or ask her if she "deodorized"...but I am also a complete weirdo when it comes to my lil girl!
