Hi Everyone,

Well today Storm is much better and i'm trying to keep her from playing too much. She is running around like normal and we managed to keep her in her own bed most of the night. She has even managed to negotiate the cone a little better.

The picture of her the day after surgery has been approved and is in my gallary if anyone wants to see my one eyed beautiful girl.

I just want to say again a HUGE thank you to you all. You have really helped me through this! Knowing so many people were sending love, hugs and healing vibes has been so great! Thanks BW for making it possible.

I went to see the picture, and caught up with the thread. What an ordeal for both of you! I'm so glad she is recovering well. It's a blessing that she doesn't have to add to the trauma of the surgery, by having to learn to navigate with eyesight in only one eye, as she has already been that way for awhile. It would break my heart to see any dog go through this, but it lifts my spirits to hear you tell of her running around again and starting to get back to her old self.
She is a beautiful girl, and that picture is so moving...!!!
Sending more healing thoughts your way, that she recovers fully very soon and can get rid of the cone.

Results are back...

Just got a call from our vet and the lab tests are back . The diagnosis was correct and Storm had Glicoma in her eye which wouldn't have gone away with treatment. No sign of cancer or thing else bad. She wouldn't of ever had vision in that eye as the retina was detached, which is probably what caused the Glicoma. He said we need to keep a close watch on her other eye just in case but she should be okay. It is a relief to know it wasn't something that could of been fixed and now we can get on with life together.

Had a rough couple of days with her not being able to play etc. She is full of energy but we have to limit her running around etc as she keeps bumping the wound and it begins to bleed. She is going back for another check up tomorrow and was due to get stitches out the day after but that is not going to happen now. That means the cone stays on :( I just can't wait to get that thing off her and play games - I can't believe how much I miss playing with her!!
