Sending good vibes to Storm. We have a neighbor with a Heeler mix that has one eye... we call him One Eyed Charlie. He does just fine, didn't slow him down one bit. Good Luck!

Our mix breed had to have an eye removed last year because it was like tripled in size, blue color and bloodshot looking around it, and he lost sight in that eye. I forget what the vet. diagnosed him with but since it was painful to Joe and he couldn't see and vet said it would rupture suddenly we had it removed. Joe was 12 or 13 then and came home the next day acting like a young pup again. He felt 100% better and adjusted wonderfully with one eye. We put him on a leash and walked him thru the layout of the house a few times and the boundaries of the yard (not fenced) and he was ok from there on out. Now the sight in the other eye is going as it's doing the same thing, but his hearing has made up for the lack of sight! Joe sends vibes to Storm and hugs too since he's been in her "paws" he knows how it goes. It will get better and she will feel better too I'm sure. Glad to hear all is over by now and hope to hear an update on Storm soon!!

She's home!!!
Storm is home and is doing great! She was wandering around at the start in a bit of a daze and she has her sad face on but otherwise she is perfect! Her eye (well where her eye was) looks really good - they seemed to have done a tidy job. I don't know how much is swelling etc but you don't even notice unless you are right near her. It helps that it is the eye with the larger brindle patch.
My day at work was full of stress and the odd tear when I started to think of her but I rang and they told me she was up and had been out to the loo which was a relief. She has even eaten some dinner which made me very happy. Hasn't drunk much but I mixed up some water with some food and she slurped the lot so hopefully that will help. It is really hot here tonight so I will have to keep trying to get her to drink. She goes back to the vet in 2 days for a check up and stiches come out in 10 days - I just can't wait to see her smile again! & see her bum wiggle!
We decided to get the eye lab tested to see what the original cause was - extra $ but worth it to finally have some answers.
