I had a cocker spaniel that we had to have her eye removed for the same reason..it is a good thing you are getting the eye out because it will start attacking the good eye! Good luck..my cocker never new her eye was gone..she was about 9 years old then and lived to 11...let us know!

good luck with the surgery. so sorry storm has to go through this but she will be just fine, sending doggie kisses from max and chloe, and hugs from me to you

I know you're devestated, but Storm will be OK and recover quickly like nothing ever happened. I will say a prayer.

Sorry about the diagnosis. Just curious, as I would question this if it was my own dog, (and you may have already considered this).
If they don't know what the underlying problem is - is there a benefit to removing the eye - what happens if they leave it alone. Will it continue to get inflamed without removal?

Also (as is my question with any diagnosis this extreme) have you gotten a second opinion from another eye specialist. Please don't take offense to my my questions. I know you have been dealing with this for 2 yrs.
I am just trying to understand and learn. :)
