Stopping when walking, at every house !

I have noticed there are several threads on here about pulling when walking. I have read them and we are working diligently on that. My girl is 3mos old and our biggest problem is that she literally stops at every house while we are walking. She will sit down at the end of the driveway and look at the house. We have kids in every house on our street and I'd say 60% of the houses have dogs. I have started taking treats out walking but she justs ignores them, esp. if there is a dog out in the yard she is stopped at. All our houses are on electric fence so the dogs are right there.

What types of things will work for this ? I try giving her a tug and telling her "come on", and then a treat if she does...but that is hard to do when she is in mid-stride. I don't want to stop her to give her a treat.....I just don't want to enforce any bad habits.

We did get a harness finally bcuz I was so worried about her hurting her neck from pulling on her collar but it doesn't seem to help with the stopping.

one thing i found helped with this a bit is to walk in front of her line of vision and redirect her - this temporarily breaks the stare and in most cases when I do this, my girl starts walking again (unless she is really distracted)...while doing this, i am also treating and praising.

i started using the Gentle Leader head collar too - this helps with the pulling but my girl is super resistant to it. i just keep trying though and hope that she will eventually accept it...

I just want to thank everyone on this thread...I have started doing the walking with the hot dog in my hand etc. and what a difference it has made ! Our walks are great now ! Thanks.
