I need some help. We just got our new rescue on Friday and she is doing fantastic! She and Cooper are getting along great, they sleep together etc. etc. The problem is that Violet (the new girl) seems to love digging. Cooper never really go into it and i am sure that the more she digs, the more he will decide that it looks like fun. Fortunately she is not trying to dig under the fence, but it is starting to look unsightly around the yard. She does it when we are not home so I cannot even give the old "NO" command. Anyhow, any suggestions would help a lot! I did hear something about putting red pepper in the holes she has been digging in.....
Thanks in advance!

If you do a search on "digging" you will come up with a bunch of different ideas that other members have tried to stop digging. Some of them are pretty good. My 2.5 month old loves to dig, so I'll have plenty to worry about come summer! I don't know about the pepper thing, it might work. Best of luck to ya!:)

We have a female boxer who also enjoys diggin in our yard. Most of the time she does this when she is bored. I have started giving her bones to take outside to knaw on and this has helped a lot. It keeps her occupied and she loves them! I have read to make sure they have toys outside to play with and things to do. Boredom will cause them to dig and the trick is to try to keep them entertained.
