Biff is 5 months, and he learned very quickly that DH and I were not for chewing on 
However, the grandkids come every weekend (11, 9, 7, 5 years old) and Biff is only NOW learning that they are not for chewing on either. - We had to train the GRANDKIDS - that so long as they were running around squealing when Biff was nipping their ankles, Biff thought it was a GREAT game.
Each of them now says "Uh! Uh! Biff", and turn away from him, arms folded, and stand still. Biff has quickly learned that the kids will not play with him when he starts that nipping, or ankle biting.
Boxers learn really quicky - we humans just have to be "consistant" and "persistant" with them - that's my mantra nowadays
