I recently bought Xander a kong and he absolutly loves it. When its crate time I took some advise and put a little peanut butter in it and he loves it keeps him busy and happy. However I noticed his poop is not solid it's quite runny and wow very stinky. Has anybody had this problem and will banana be any differant?

Boxers and gas are synonomous!

What are you feeding your puppy? Sometimes diet can do it too.

Can't answer about the banana, but I "think" you have to be careful about how much peanut butter you give them!

He could also have a parasite..that could cause the runs.

Could be that the peanut butter is too rich for him (the standard stuff is nearly 50% fat! And the reduced fat type may have less, but it's not exactly low ;)).

There are plenty of other things to stuff his kong with though. Yoghurt could be good (as long as he's not lactose intolerant), so could fruit, banana included - or a mix of both. You can freeze it to make it solid :) You'll have to find out by trial and error what his system copes well with and what makes his stool loose though, I'm afraid. It's different for every dog.

Puppies will sometimes react to different foods like that. Your pup is very young so it's all new to his system so some things may not agree with him at this point

Yesturday you started a thread and commented that your pup isn't eating well and also tired. No he has stinky soft stool. I think with all these symptoms you may want to take him to the vet. It could be parvo. Better to be safe. Hope all is well.

Kongs are GREAT things. Addie just had her first one tonight and it kept her busy for about an hour. I put frozen mixed veggies inside and put peanut butter on both ends. I wanted to see how she was going to do so I didn't freeze it.

Please help me out here! I bought a medium size Kong for Samantha and have placed peanut butter in it but the hole seems to be to small for her tongue to fit in and get it out.

I think the purpose is to make them work for their food. They will find a way to get everything out....trust me. Give it to her and see what she does. Good Luck
