Still missing my boy

It has been two years since I have had to say good bye to Thor. I still miss him, and as we have been unpacking I come across things that were his, just making me miss him more. He was my mama's boy and a snuggler. He was always near me and if I was sitting or laying down he would be touching me. I miss that so much! (I love Arabella, but she in NOT a snuggler unless she isn't feeling well.) Thor was also a big lover. He would win over anyone he met. He was a big boy and many people would be nervous when they first saw him, but he would just walk up wiggling his nubber and put them at ease. Every time we went to a family function I would get pictures later of children hugging him.

He would make friends wherever he went. I have even seen him win over cat people. I remember one time while walking him he just sat down on the sidewalk watching a couple working in their yard. He was not budging until he could say hi. The couple came over and gave him a pet and telling me what a sweet dog he was, and they were cat people and didn't really care for dogs! He would go into a dog park and say hi to all the dogs and then he would go from person to person to get some love. You could always pick out the newbies because they would just look at him and wonder what he wanted and what to do. I would tell them to give a pat or two and he would move. Some were happy to do so, other where a little worried because he was so big. Either way they all would pet him and his nubber would go a mile a minute and he would have made new friends. They would then be looking for him when they came to the park the next time.

As much as he loved people, he loved his canine pals, too. He would paly with any dog that wanted to play with him. Since Arabella isn't a dog park girl, Thor didn't get to go very often. But when he did he always had a blast. Even when he was old and gray. He was also a calming effect for Arabella. She hears a noise and she is off barking. Thor would come running and barking as well, but if nothing was there he would just look at her and walk off. She knew it was ok and would stop barking as well. Now I have open the door so she can see outside and make sure nothing is there.

Bubby, your mama and your sister miss you very much! I am sure you greet each new pup that comes over the Rainbow Bridge to let them know they are safe and welcomed, along with your big sis Star. (You were both so great about that at the dog parks.) Let her know mama and Arabella miss her as well.

It was 2 years and 3 days ago that I had to leave my Trudy Girl at the Bridge also. Having my Waldo made me forget for a bit even when he is determined to drag me out of bed in the morning. I'm sure that Trudy and Thor are having a ball waiting for us.

It's so hard because they have such big personalities and like you said constant companions. I was always a "girl" dog person until I met Mick. We had a connection from the first time we met. He was out going, confident, kind, protective, too smart, and a five star cuddlier. I had read some forums here about boy vs girl boxer. After losing Mick and welcoming a new boy to our home I'm convinced the boy boxer personalities are different from girls. Cooper has many of Micks same qualities- especially in the cuddle department. I know they are all different but my boys have been real sweethearts!

It isn't too much to ask. I was going to post one when I wrote the original post but I couldn't decide which one. I still can't so you will have to take your pick. lol
