Starting to homecook

Hi there, I have just started to homecook in the last week. I have gleaned a ton of useful information from this forum - thanks so much. I've also got a couple of books checked out of the library. It seems that a pressure cooker is going to be a wise investment. I am thinking about starting out with a 12 litre. Can anybody recommend a good one that isn't going to cost an arm and a leg....or should I abide the old adage that you get what you pay for??

Ok, here's my 2 cents!

I had a 16 quart pressure cooker with a rubber gasket. It works fine. I use it a lot for cooking dog food and canning fruits and veggies for my family. I noticed since I started using it for dog food, the rubber gasket started to melt. Rubber gaskets aren't too expensive to replace.

However, I did some research and found a gasketless cooker. It has a metal to metal seal. I was leary about getting one but dh surprised me and bought one off the internet. They aren't cheap, running about $200. But I LOVE mine and it is well worth the money!
