starting basic training?

Ciera and I are starting training class this Saturday. I was wondering if any one else has been through the basic class at Petsmart, and how did you like/dislike it. We got the hand book and I would like to get started on some of the things but do not want to get ahead a step of the class. She can sit and shake and we are working on down before class. Any tips would be great. she is my first boxer and I got her just a month ago at age 16 months. Also, she hardley barks, is that normal?

Apollo did puppy kindergarten at PetsMart this past summer and we liked it alot. The class was small enough that the trainer worked on the basics and then whatever else we specifically would ask about. She suggested that he skip basic and take the advanced class when he's about one year old. We'll start that in January. The trainer we had was great and she really liked Apollo. Even now, she makes a point of saying hi to him when we're in the store and asking about him. As for barking, Apollo is 8 months and doesn't bark very much. He'll let out a little woof every now and then in the back yard. He'll bark when he's playing "Daddy's gonna get you" or when he's crated and knows we're still in the house. Other than that, not much.

haven't tried petsmart

but we have done classes, and we are starting on our second set thursday. but about the barking. patrick never barks unless he is "playing" with us and sometimes at the broom, mop or vacuum cleaner. so it sounds pretty normal, and probably a blessing
