Hi again-

Busy morning for me and boxer baby questions. Riley has a "rash" - red splotchy areas all over her chest and belly... i thought that she's been having some sort of allergic reaction to something, but I don't think that's what it is anymore. It doesn't seem to bother her much at all, so I haven't been too worried. I spoke to the vet on Tuesday night and she said to keep an eye on it. The "rash" or whatever it is seems to have gotten a little worse - I would have loved to try to take her to the vet today but they are closed on Thursdays. I am going to take her in first thing Friday - I think she'll be okay to wait, although this morning she had some pretty bad diarrhea. I just can't wind up at the ER vet again - too expensive!!!

I was thinking it could be a staph infection or some sort of skin infection? Does anyone know what that looks like or what the symptoms are?

Lars had similar red areas when he had methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). He had to go on a lengthy cycle of Baytril.

Skin scrapings and a small biopsy. We had to go to a derm specialist. My boy had a lot of skin issues once upon a time. But, I do remember the red dots being a sign to my derm that it was MRSA.
