Standing over my feet

I just had a quick question about my beautiful boxer, Vega's constant desire to stand over my feet. If I'm watching TV or sitting down anywhere actually she is always trying to stand over my feet. I've heard it's a domination thing but, I just wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas.

Billy does this too. Sometimes he even tries to sit on the leg that is uppermost. clowicon I don't know if it's a dominance thing or not - it doesn't seem threatening to me and he doesn't 'look' as if he's trying to dominate.

Personally I just think it's a cute trait they have.

All our Boxers have done this, they just like to be close to you Sitting, standing on feet, leaning etc etc....I'd feel there was something really wrong if there was not a Boxer doing this in our household You will here that it is 'dominance', but if you do not mind then there is no problem at all. If you do mind and are constantly having a battle with Vega over this, then you may need to look at the deeper issues.

Bandi does this too but she is just wanting her tummy scratched. She never gets enough tummy scratching LOL

Ramses does this too, so I asked our trainer about it and she said that it is becasue they love you and they want to know if you move. Ramses sits on my feet or leans against my leg evertime I move he is right over my feet. It's cute. He just wants to know if his mommy moves so he can follow her around some more! He loves you!

Is this why Deuce has to get under the covers and lay on me, withhis face either on my neck or face? To be honest, I have gotten used to the sweet putrid smell of his mouth.

It is not a dominence thing. It is more a comforting thing; both for them and you. Boxers are a tactile breed. They like to touch and be touched. Mine will always lay a paw or head on my foot. That will always prompt a little head scratch
