squeaking toys

I can't seem to find any toys that don't squeak, and blu squeaks and squeaks all day long. i am also a little worried about rope toys, since he destroys it and then eats the rope. If anyone has any toy suggestions that their dogs love and don't squeak, please let me know.

Petsmart carries plush squeaky toys that have replaceable squeakers. What you can do is buy the toy and just remove the squeaker from the pouch.

Agree with Shannon, Kongs are great. Also we've had good luck with a toy called a "Sphericon". Looks like a cross between a football & wiffle ball, comes in a few different sizes, think it's made with a material similar to a Kong, but thinner (it's tough though, we've had it over a year and a half and our Mastiff can't destroy it - he's tried though!). We got ours at Petco, it can be thrown, it rolls, the boys play tug with it, so there is a lot of versatility with it. We've also had success with taking a clear plastic bottle (water bottle), putting some kibble in it and screwing the cap on tightly. They have a blast chasing it, batting it around and trying to figure out why they can't get the kibble out - just be sure to supervise since the bottles won't hold up too long.

We use tennis balls, lots of them. I have been finding these huge tennis balls in wild prints at Wal-Mart. They are located at the front registers in a box full of different toys all for .97 We do have many toys with squeekers in them, but they don't really bother me unless I'm on the phone or trying to watch American Idol!! I know what you mean

Sometimes I think Capone just likes to make noise. He loves any kind of ball though. He will play for hours, trying to catch it, kicking it and running after it. Be prepared for the cry that comes when it gets stuck under the couch though.

Beau loves tennis balls and bones made of tennis ball material, too. They are very durable and are definitely his favorite. You can pick them up at Petco.

Titan loves his kong on a rope. I also dont like him chewing on the pieces of frayed rope, so I tie a knot in the end and cut off as much extra hanging out as I can. I dont know if it's a good thing or not but he loves to destroy the squeaker and voice boxes in all his toys. You can actually hear him do a big "crunch" and that's the end of the voices from the toy. He never tries to eat it, just kill it. Odd.but then I dont have to hear squeaking from that toy again.
