On October 28, 2005, my boy Zack was not in his normal playfull mood. He just turned a year old on September 30. He was walking very little and very slow with his head pointing toward the floor. It was obvious that he had some sort of pain but not sure from where. I had to work so my brother brought him to the vet. They said that he has a sprained back. They did not do blood work or x-rays. He told my brother that this is a common injury for a house dog that is very hyper. He gave him two types of meds, one half a pill once a day, and one pill twice a day. I do not remember that names of the meds. Well at first Zack appeared to be walking better, and happier. On Monday morning he could hardly stand up and once he did he would not move. I decided to make another vet visit. I was told that it would take some time to heal, and to keep giving him the meds. Well it is now Sat. and he appears not much better. He is in the worst shape when he awakes in the morning. He has a hard time standing up and he is very stiff. His back stays slightly curved and he cannot put his head down far enough to eat. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, oh yeah he does eat but less portions than before.
