Gatsby did not have any spots when we got him at 4 months and started getting them on his flashy part at around 8 months. The bigger he gets the more they increase in size, not so much in number. I thought it could be due to the fact that both of his parents were brindles and he was the only fawn puppy in the litter. The vet said that they are sort of like freckles but should be watched in case they become palpable.
