Spanky has goopy eyes!

Our 2 yr old white boxer has had really yucky eyes for about a week now. The goop is really thick and yellow and comes back after about 10 minutes of wiping it away. I just gave him a bath about half an hour ago and so far he doesn't have any but I'm sure it will be back in the morning. I figured if it is still there by Monday I will call the vet and see what she says.
I don't know what would be causing it. Does anyone have any ideas or ever had this happen before? We have 2 other boxers and neither one of them have anything like this...and all 3 of them are together 24/7...can't get them seperated most of the time. I did seperate him for tonight though because our youngest (Tia a 7 month old brindle) has been playing really rough with Spanky and she actually gave him a nice cut on his chin that is pretty bad. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!! I'm lost, this is my husband's dog and he would be devastated if something was wrong with him!!!!

This same thing happened to Nala in the spring. We took her to the vet and it was allergies. They thought she was having a bad allergic reaction to something because her face was swollen also. She almost got a shot but they tried her on binadryl, an antibiotic and fish oil suppliments. I was told if the binadryl didn't work by the next few hours to bring her back for the shot. The binadryl worked and her eyes cleared up. We now keep the binadryl handy so that when she is itching her face or ears we can give it to her. As long as we keep on top of her itching she does great and she only needs the binadryl once in a while. But if we slack off at all and let the itching slide even for a few hours then she has to take it twice a day for several days just to get her back on track.

Hopefully it is that simple for you also. Keep a close eye on him this weekend and i would see the vet as soon as you can.

If the discharge is yellow or greenish and in both eyes, that would typically indicate infection. Take him to his veterinarian asap and be sure they take a good look at his eyes for any indication of an eye injury as well.

A yellow or green discharge is usually an sign of an infection. I would get him to a vet. We're sending Spanky some healthy ((vibes))!

I agree, yellow discharge could be a sign for an eye infection.
Sky had one a few month back, the vet prescribed an ointment and it cleared up in a matter of days.
