Hello everyone. Our pup is a bit over a year old and we've recently switched her to adult food - Solid Gold Wolf King formula from Wellness Puppy, which she hated and often snubbed her nose at. I've heard lots of great stuff about Solid Gold in general, but I haven't been able to find anything in particular about the Wolf King formula.

Is anyone else currently feeding this formula to their dogs? Does anyone know of any drawbacks? She's been on it for about 2 weeks and she loves it, her poops are coming out perfectly, and it seems like a great food overall. However, I'd like the expert advice of some other boxer moms and dads just to feel confident about it.

Any recommendations/suggestions/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Hi Angela,
George is very picky about his food and we have changed from so many brands-against my vets advice. When George was about a year old we switched him to Canidae which was fine for a bit, then he stopped eating that and we went to wellness. Again he became picky and stopped eating that after several months,so we then went to sensible choice which lasted the least amount of time. We now are giving him Wolf King which he is really enjoying and I hope it lasts this time!! The only problem I notice is his stomach is making lots of gurgles now after he eats but he doesn't seem uncomfortable and he doesn't have diarrhea.

thanks!

Thanks to both of you for the info. kariRN, I know what you mean about the stomach gurgling. Ethel has always had lots of gas, and it's no different since she's been on Wolf King, though I'm wondering if this formula is too rich for her. We mix her food with a bit of wet (which I wish now we had never done in the first place. She was anemic as a pup and very sick, so to encourage her to eat, we mixed in wet and the rest is history...).

My parents feed their dogs Innova, and have had great results (and their babies are so beautiful!) so I am thinking about switching slowly to that, though I don't want to wreak havoc on her stomach with all the switching. I just want to get her on a food that is ideal for her personal needs.

Tulsa Dan, thanks for the ingredient info. I have studied them in-depth already, and I'm looking for more of a personal-feedback type of thing. If you know anyone who has their dog on Wolf, and have any advice, that would be great. Or Innova, for that matter. I know you're great with the food advice.

Thanks again!

Angela
