I understand that, I've seen the research, I've also seen things with my own eyes. It's a personal decision to me and people in the community that consult with me on foods I usually advise against it however I do not say absolutely don't do it, I simply give them the stats as well as my personal experience and let them make their own decision. I also typically advise that if they are going to do it their dog will need a lot of exercise and they will need to monitor their weight closely so they do not become overweight due to the high fat ratio as well. For me personally, I wouldn't put my own dogs on it, a foster, or a client's dog on it just because I am not comfortable with it due to what I have seen. I am big on research, but I am big on personal experiences too and do not discount either. In this case they conflict each other, and I simply choose to take the road I feel is safer. If I'm wrong, nothing happens one way or the other, if I'm right, it may help soemone out in the long run. Again, it is my personal experiences, my personal opinion, and my personal choice. I give people both roads and let them choose which one to go down.

That's fine if you want to share your personal experiences - but to make a blanket statement that high protien diets are unhealthy or cause kidney problems is completely false. ;)

I was feeding Clare Barking at the Moon and she had very soft stool and sometimes runny.

I recently switched to Wellness Core and she is doing great on it. Less gas and solid stool! Yeah!

I didn't, in my original post I said IMO, meaning in my opinion. In my post on causing problems I said the protein to fat ratio is bad depending on how the dog is exercised etc. If you get a dog on a food that is 18% fat and 40% protein and they are a couch potatoe it will more than likely cause problems eventually. In my other statement I said from what I have seen and experienced. I never made a blanket statement as I do not believe in blanket statements. Anything, studies included, is open to interpretation and can be skewed how people choose really.
