Soft tissue damage.....

in his back left leg, could any body tell me how long this could take to fix, they vets said "some time" but i'd like to know roughly in weeks/months etc.

Did he pull a muscle? Or what kind of tissue damage? I'm a little confused..when Bella pulled a muscle in her front leg it took about a month..could you call the vet and ask..
