He looks like the average boxer puppy.

We also have a six month old and looks about the same. We feed him four cups a day of taste of the wild and sometimes he doesn't eat his whole meal. Also I had asked my vet about this as he is our first puppy and she said he is extremely healthy. She continued by saying that it is much better on their developing joints to be a little under weight than at all over weight. I was looking for a picture of Loki's ribs but could not find a good one.

Hello! I've been feeding mine Blue Buffalo also (he just turned 10 months old). He eats 5 cups a day right now. I was thinking he ate approximately 4 cups a day when he was six months old. I always feed him the max for his weight range because he is so energetic. If you're worried about him being too skinny, try upping his feedings to the max. Like the others have posted, it seems they go through skinny stages. He'll grow out of it! It seems mine just finally started looking a little more mature, although he's still got some growing to do! ; ) Your boy is definitely handsome! Good luck with everything!

i asked the same question here when seamus was that age

and i was assured that he looked fine, but it scared me a bit. We feed Blue Buffalo and switched him to adult. He goes through "skinny stages" during growth spurts, maybe? I upped his food and treat amounts and he is very active. He eats about 5 cups a day, and treats some days added. He gets lots of exercise- dog park free running, walks at least twice a day, and play time with ball, etc. and I don't have a problem feeding him more if needed.
I'm curious about raw also, and don't know where to start, so I hope someone chimes in.

Beautiful boxer, by the way!

Thanks Kronos is real tall that may be the reason why I think he may look a little thin. He is growing everyday though i will tell you that. Thank you by the way!!

Oh my gosh, he's built just like my Bodie was at that age - tall too, 28 inches and he has always looked just like your boy! Who is gorgeous by the way! Bodi is now 18 months old and weighs 73 pounds. He's finally starting to lose the skinny boy look. I'm sure yours will start to fill out some as he gets older.

I honestly would like to go RAW on him. But I don't know where to start.

I feed mine 100% grain-free (we had some digestive/diarrhea issues when a lil guy). I actually feed Wilderness Puppy by Blue Buffalo. It's supposed to be the next best thing to a raw diet. They have a variety of adult versions for when he hits 12 months old. I am a busy nursing student and don't have time to do 100% raw meals, but so far, I really like the way he's doing on Wilderness. Maybe something to look into??? Mine still looks a little like a gangly teenager, but he's growing out of it finally! He's 10 months old and weighs in at 65 lbs.
