Antigone & Thom have natural ears & Tyson's were cropped when we got him he was 2. Whoever cropped them did a bad job  they lok more like a pit our vet once ask if he was sensitive about his ears we said no & he said he would be if they were his ears. That mad me sad. We love him no matter what his ears look like. I think they add more character.
They all have nubbies as well.

The Case for Tail Docking

Tail Docking Information from the Council of Docked Breeds

I found this website when I was researching the whole docking/cropping vs. natural debate before we brought Jack home. Apparently, there is an initiative in the UK to ban tail docking (i believe they already ban ear cropping?). Anyway, the organized opposition to this measure states the numerous, painful, slow to heal tail injuries certain dogs are prone to .. they also talk about the pain and slow healing of the tails that end up being amputated anyway due to the constant injury. I had no idea... I had always thought it was cosmetic like the ears have become. I think at some point in their history ear cropping was more functional, but not anymore. And BTW .. there are several pictures of boxers with injured tails. Apparently their exuberance makes them the poster breed for tail docking .

As for ears, the boxer I had when I was young had her ears cropped. I still remember all the taping and hassle. But I like the look and thought I would do Jack's ears. Then I tried explaining the process to my 9-year old son. As I looked into his horrified eyes I had hard time justifying why we would "cut his puppies ears off" just cause we liked the look. My boyfriend took my son's side, so, Jack's ears are floppy, and I'm so glad . I wouldn't have that sweet face framed any other way!

Xena and Spirit both have natural ears!:D Xena has "flying-nun" ears and Spirit's ears are always turned inside out when he plays!:p Both have their tails docked...Xena's nub smaller than Spirit's! Nothing like a good nub-wagging to brighten your day!:D
I am also an admirer of cropped ears..I love that look too! :)

Samson and Delilah have natural ears. She looks like the flying nun too when she runs. Their tail were dockes when we got them.

Dixie, Brittany, Maggie and Laci all have natural ears, but their tails are docked.
Dixie loves to have her ears massaged. :)
I think the natural ears are beautiful!

looking for "natural" boxer pupwith tail and ears

Hello everyone,

We are new on this site and are sending out a question to you all. We are looking for a "natural" female boxer pup (show quality with health certificate from a loving and responsible breeder). If anyone knows of someone in the United States who could help us please let us know.

Or, if anyone has any ideas (that does not involve flying to Europe...that is the next plan). By the way, we live in California...but could travel.

Thanks!

Curious

For those who have, or have had Boxers with their tails intact, do they "wiggle butt" the same as boxers with docked tails, or do they move more like other dogs when they wag their tails?

I remember reading that the practice of docking was started in self defense. The article said that when a Boxer with its tail intact got excited, they would damage things in the home, and actually administer bruises with their tails. Does this conform to your experiences with a "tailed" Boxer?

I imagine there would be some form of damage control needed :p I've never owned dogs with long tails but my best friend's AB has his and when he gets excited.. watch out! lol, I love it though, maybe because it's out of the norm for me

.. my baby is 1/2 natural .. :D
Docked tail w/natural floppy ears!

As my boxer grows, I enjoy his naturalness more and more daily.. Love the floppy ears and the long tail!

It's amazing the type of responses we get at dog parks etc... no one believes that he's boxer!
