I love my boys natural ears. He's got a waggly nub though, came that way from the breeders. I've only seen one all natural Boxer. She was beautiful. Kudos to those who don't alter. No one could convince me that there's no pain.

To each their own. They look great both ways.

A quick story about ears...When Morph was just a baby, I had him in a store(in my arms, not walking around the place) and all the employees were doting on him.. One asked "So, when are you getting his ears done?" "Oh, never" I replied. "That's the way they're suppose to be, looks so much better and it doesn't hurt them" She said."You got your ears peirced"She added(dumbfounded as to the stupidity of that comment).

"That was my choice wasn't it? A dog doesn't have that choice". Normally peaceful I had to interject...she just kept pestering me, so I offered "let me slice your ears in half and tell me it doesn't hurt. Then tell me you"re not embarassed with feminine pads on your ears".

Natural or not......Boxers are the best. I mean no disrespect to docked, just a non dog owners ignorance.

When we brought Otis home from his first family (due to medical problems with the wife, they had to give up Otis), he came to us with Natural ears and a docked tail. We just love that natural ears look!! Makes him goofier looking when he's getting into some sort of trouble! :D

Same here. :( I couldn't personally do it. I don't like pain myself, I could not bestow it upon my hunnies. Some people called me a woosie because their ears are not cropped. Besides the fact that it is painful to them, I like the natural look. It does show alot of personality. Ikaika's ears were bigger than his head when he was a pup. It was just so cute.

Ginger has natural ears which I love. To me cropped ears make boxers look more serious and natiural ones look more cuddly. Just my opinion. Her tail was cropped before we got her.

Izzy's tail is docked (breeder) but we left his ears natural, When I was growing up my mom had a Dobie and had his ears done it just seemed to painful, and the taping took a lot of time! besides thats how I know Izzy is about to do something he shouldnt he puts his ears up and back almost like he has pony tails and I love to play with them they are as soft as velvet!!

natural=cute!

All of my babies have natural ears, but docked tails. I just love the look of them with big, soft floppy ears!lovicon

Both our babies have natural ears but cropped tails. My wife and I feel they just aren't boxers without the tails done.

We talked a little bit about doing the ears of the puppy but realized he is just too cute with the natural ears. Also someone said earlier that the fixed ears give the dog almost a serious look. The best part about the natural ears is when beak out into a run in the back yeard. Those ears start flopping and make them look like big goobers. :LOL:

Hi Haylee has a cropped tail & natural ears. We had a choice with her ears, but not with the tail. Breeder had this done. She does have a lot of expression with her floppy ears. We call he the flying nun!:eek: Maze

Hi,

Here in the UK we keep the ears natural but still dock the tails.
However we now have three natural short tailed dogs; part of an experiment started over ten years ago by a UK genetisis.

I'll post some pictures in the gallery under bobtail Boxers.

Cheers
Barry
