thanks guys! i guess it will be a few days.. or a week... or however long until we know. i hope i have nothing to report! dh is furious. he's going to the hardware store today to see what kind of fencing they have that isn't too expensive (that dogs can't have contact through). we rent right now, so we can only put up something that's temporary. i don't know what good it will do since she's already had contact with the puppy, but at the very least, if she didn't get infected, it will keep her from getting infected in the future (say the puppy sniffs it's feces in the yard and then sniffs my girl). in the meantime, i'm going to try to hold on to my sanity. it's always something........

Thora's at the vet
Shortly after I got into work this morning, my mom called to tell me that Thora had been throwing up pretty much since I left the house and was crying a little when she tried to vomit. I left work immediately and picked her up and took her to the vet. They did a Parvo test, which came up negative, but the vet said it's very likely it would if she's in beginning stages and hasn't started shedding cells yet through her stool. They're keeping her in isolation overnight and giving her fluids to keep her hydrated, doing a full blood panel, and also giving her an abdominal xray to make sure she hasn't swallowed anything. The vet said if her white cell count comes up low, it's a good sign she does have Parvo. She'll be there until they feel it's safe for me to bring her home. I'm a little worried because no one is there from midnight-7am, but they said if the vet thinks it's necessary, they will transport her to the emergency hospital.
I'm so worried about my baby :( Please keep the positive vibes coming. I won't know anything until later this evening. I can't even visit while she's in isolation. I'll update when I know something.

I would insist that she get transferred to the e-vet for the night. 7 hours is a long time for a puppy and she could easily go from "kinda sick" to "really, really sick and needs immediate treatment" and no one would be there to notice.
Please, please, please don't leave her at the vet overnight unattended!!!
Even if you have to go pick her up and bring her to the emergency vet yourself, she needs to go. She would be better off at home with you watching her for the 7 hours than being alone.
